White View Beach House Resort is located in a peaceful village of Santiago in San Francisco, Camotes Islands.
It is presently named as “Bella Vista Mare” and is run by an able and friendly Italian. It is also nicely renovated to accommodate visitors in this homely establishment.
San Francisco is the most popular destination among visitors of Camotes for some reasons. ‘San Fran’, as the locals shortened it, is sort of a tourist “enclave” due to its wide, clean, and white sand beach.
As you are approaching the area, you could only try to imagine how its beauty looks like since it is camouflaged by trees and green coconut trees.
And then, as you finally pass the camouflaging greens and reach the resort, you could only hold your breath for a few second and then say: wow!
Yes, that’s where ‘Bella Vista mare’ resort is located.
This former house itself is not so big – only more than 650 square meters. It is built on a lot with a total of around a thousand square meters. The lot is right on the elevation of the enclave giving a fantastic site for any establishment that can offer tranquil abode to any creature on earth.
The resort is only a few steps away from the famous beach of San Francisco – Santiago Bay. This public beach has a long stretch of shore and wide beach. You can see its white and soft sand during low tide and swim its wonderful turquoise water during high tide.
White View Beach Resort (Bella Vista Mare) is sandwiched by other popular beach resorts – Santiago Bay Garden and other nice resorts dotting the bay.
The village has ample supply of water and electricity. Mobile phones and internet access are available via wireless broadband.
However, you might need your patience when sending a message and getting a reply back since the signal is not so good at times. But you would certainly get a friendly answer.
White View Beach House offers cheaper accommodation and complimentary breakfast to all its guests. More so, you can have a great and similar view as its neighbor Santiago Bay Garden Resort does.
Right below and close by, you can have your drinks and meals at Sutukil Restaurant. This is where my sister, her hubby and myself enjoyed our drinks while watching a soccer game in the evening (that was August 2013).
You can play volleyball (or basketball) on land since there is a public space available for such sports. Interestingly, you can also play volleyball during high tide, that is when the water is waist-line high. Or, you can also play it when the water is away.
No, we did not play because we were chasing time then. We decided to travel and see more of Camotes Islands by hiring a motorcycle with a side car.
Kayak, boat, snorkel, etc.
Just ask any of the resorts and they will gladly offer you various sorts of fun facilities and activities you can do while in this relaxing part of the island.
Although you are staying at this resort, I’m sure you can also rent the facilities of Santiago Garden Resort including its swimming pool.
In this tropical island only a few sorts of vehicles are available but good enough to bring you around safely. You can also hire them for a half-day or a day’s tour of your preference around the island.
Jeepney. It is a variation of the WWII’s JP. This vehicle can accommodate between 10 to 20 passengers at a time. Passengers take the elongated sits lined on both sides, thus making passengers sit facing each other… interesting!
Vans. Vans can accommodate less than jeepneys can. You won’t be facing the other passengers but you have to pay the price, which is higher compared with the Jeepneys.
Habal-habal (motorbikes). This is omnipresent not only on this island but all over the country. This is the most accessible and available mode of transport in rural areas since it can pass through narrow and rough terrains. Yes, you can hire motorbikes or rent them for cheaper rate. You have to bargain before hiring them!
Motorcyles with sidecars. This is what I hired when we took a tour in most popular tourist sites of this island—Green Lake or Danao Park, Timubo Cave, Buho Rock Resort, among other must-see places on Camotes Islands.
I was totally enjoying my first travel and would definitely visit this island again and discover more great places and corners I haven’t seen.
