Aabana Beach Watersport Resort was my choice when I decided to come to this popular island.
I chose to spend an overnight stay at this resort for my first visit on this piece of paradise. I can still remember my excitement even before I set foot and came asking and looking for this resort.
I know that I will enjoy my stay although I came alone and with only a day to spent. I promised myself to spend my time with my all my heart and mind present only in this place.
Anyway, here's how I can roughly describe the resort and some of the things surrounding this particular resort. So here I go...
Aabana Resort is a family-run watersports establishment on Malapascua’s white Bounty Beach.
Malapascua Island is in the northernmost tip of Cebu Province of Central Visayas region, Philippines.
Malapascua is one of the popular destinations among beach holiday-makers and scuba divers, especially among foreign guests who are really serious in learning scuba diving and interested in exploring the fecund marine life of Malapascua's waters.
On this island, Aabana Beach Watersport Resort can provide you with a personalized service and great hospitality through its management, staff and facilities.
Now, let’s check out some interesting backgrounds of this abode…
MIKE AND DIOSES BEACH COTTAGE
The cottage accommodation of this same resort, is proud to announce that it just won the Tripadvisors Travellers Choice Award 2013. Congrats!
Mike and Dioses Cottage is a hidden abode, away from human traffic and stress of all sorts of activities. Around the cottage you’ll be living in a truly rural and natural environment.
You will find fowls wandering around – turkeys, geese, ducks, among others. The tropical style cottage and natural landscape will surely reconnect you with nature again.
Just to mention a few of things you can do on the island, here are some of Aabana’s…
On this island, there is so much you can spend time with and truly enjoy the beach, sea and environment. You can either get such services from outside or from the resort itself. Most of these fun offers are water activities. Here are some of them...
There are two boats for private tours around the island with comfortable and safety facilities for visiting secluded coves, beaches and caves. Motorized Bangka ‘Baleleng’
Is an outboard-engine-fiberglass-pumpboat that you’ll be taking with during your tours.
Another motorized boat is the 57 Ft Pumpboat ‘Seahawk’. It is built with fiberglassed plywood hall and equipped with safety facilities and shade that protects its passengers from direct sunlight or rain.
While doing your boat tour, you can visit excellent coastal restaurants, such as ANGELINA Pizza, SUNSPLASH, MALAPASCUA LEGEND, HIPPOCAMPUS, MANGROVE ORIENTAL…
You may scan through the rate details of boat tours here: http://www.aabana.de/Boat_Tours/boat_tours.html
Requires adult or above 16 years old rider. The ski can take 2 persons.
No experience or license required but you’ve got to follow safety measures.
You can find the detailed rates for rent at their site, below.
Interesting diving activities will be arranged with a dive resort called Purple Snapper, a neighbor dive shop on this island. Sure, I saw this dive shop and also took photos from outside their fence.
When I stayed at this resort, this is the only activity I did aside from just swimming and taking photos. I did it for just an hour. One of the staff was told by Mike (through phone) to watch me while I canoe knowing the it was my first and probably they were concern that I might get lost into the ocean. That's sweet! I asked the staff to take a few shots for my website ^^.
GREAT FACILITIES & SERVICES
Aabana Beach Watersport Resort management emphasizes truly human and personalized service, not so commercialized.
Kitchen utensils will be provided only for long staying guests who want to cook their own meals. Good idea to save more and enjoy more!
Okay, let’s check out Aabana’s great…
Aabana Beach Watersport Resort offers nice room accommodations. The rooms are established to see to it that they have small gardens at each front yards. When I came here (August 2013), I decided to take the budget accommodation--the backpackers rooms!

Casaviva: queen size bed, aircon, hot shower, private bath, TV flatscreen, ref, safety box, WiFi, terrace, etc.

During my stay at this resort, I used the budget room since I was alone and stayed only for a day. I didn't want to spend more for my room, rather, I just wanted to enjoy the island, white beach, tranquility, fresh sea breeze, and the clear waters.
